When we first saw it, this house in Putney, London, was a rectory full of dark wood, heavy curtains, mounted stag’s heads, and hunting pictures. we turned it into a light-filled family house by knocking some rooms together, and extending it at the rear with a large family kitchen opening out onto a spacious deck. A cramped attic transformed into a spacious bedroom and study suite, lit by a jagged skylight.
