Density Design Drills

As part of our Profitable Neighbourhoods initiative, #DensityDesignDrills were hosted alongside Space Syntax to enable us to connect and densify sites across the country! We have created a digital pen tool to draw rows of stacked and toggled terraces in a single pen stroke. This method allows for the quick creation of feasibility-style masterplans for Profitable Neighbourhoods, serving as both proof of concept and a form of direct action through drawing. Each week, we select sites from different parts of the UK and engage in back-of-the-envelope design work, leveraging big data, intuition and creative tools, allowing us to collaboratively explore and discuss what truly matters at ground level, by envisioning the everyday experiences of people living in these new, denser neighbourhoods.
