Ash Sakula developed their Wickside proposal as part of a whole host of developments across Hackney Wick and Fish Island. Situated amidst an existing and thriving arts scene, the trick has been to facilitate development without driving out these existing communities. With 26 other architects in the mix and a whole host of collaborators from artists to small-business owners to developers, the project is a multi-faceted and complex endeavour. This "retrospective master-planners meeting" was a chance to look back and reflect on the process, considering how we might take successes and lessons learned forward into other developments. Rosie, our summer intern, did a write up for the organisers, which you can read over here.
